The USA Baseball certification pathway is designed for all individuals who are currently coaching baseball or aspiring to coach at any level of the game. USA Baseball offers three levels of Coach Certifications: A, B, and C.

Coach “B” certification consists of 9 courses that cover baserunning, hitting, pitching, catching, infield, outfield, fundamentals of the game, practice planning, coach philosophy, creating a positive team culture, and umpiring basics. Coach “C” certification consists of 8 courses that cover topics including strategies, game management, creating a positive experience, coaching philosophy, game and practice approach, and management of a pitching staff. Completion of the “A” and “B” Certifications and completing the “C” Code of Conduct are also required.

The USA Baseball Umpire Certification program is designed to enhance umpire education and training with a focus on understanding the basic skills required to umpire a game and provides tips on conflict resolution.

The USA Baseball Parent Certification program is designed to enhance parent education and training with a focus on understanding how to recognize and respond to misconduct, the fundamentals of the American Development Model, arm safety for pitchers, and maximizing your child’s experience in baseball.

The Parent Certification consists of the Abuse Awareness for Adults Course, ADM for Parents Course, Introduction to Pitch Smart Course, and the Play Ball Parent Course.

The Connection-Based Coaching Certification is a free online certification for all coaches, anywhere in the world, to enhance positive connection with their athletes. Through the story-telling lens of Team USA athletes, coaches, and staff, three 30-minute interactive courses guide participants to greater awareness of social and emotional skills to support their coaching techniques. It is a self-paced platform to practice these important topics that will positively influence the lives of the next generation.
13. What are the components of the Connection-Based Coaching Certification?
The Connection-Based Coaching Certification consists of a Pre-Course Survey, Module 1: Making the Connection, Module 2: Connecting With My Athletes, Module 3: The Power of Your Presence, and a Post-Course Survey.
14. What do I receive after completing certification?

15. Do certifications expire?
Yes, since the Abuse Awareness for Adults course and background check expire annually, the certifications they are a requirement for also expire at that time.
